The province of Guantánamo, the most eastern of the greater one of the Antilles, stands out for its natural wealth in correspondence with the aboriginal name that holds, which means "land between the two rivers".,
As a relevant element in its geography was founded the first town in Cuba (Baracoa) by Diego Velasquez, which came to be in addition first capital and first bishop of the isle. In that area the natural landscape is complemented with a mountain flattened 575 meters height known as the Anvil of Baracoa, due to its similarity with that part used by the blacksmiths for its work. ,

As singular element, in the province there are still vestiges of the indigenous settlements in the area of Charity of the Indians, in the municipality of Manuel Tames, this aspect of great cultural ethnic interest. Visitors are caught up in an environment full of memories of the colonial era, which include the famous Cross of the Parra, manufactured by the Spaniards during the first trip to America with precious woods of the place and it was used to officiate by Fray Bartolome De Las Casas.
