Cuban Freestyle Soccer Record in the Water |
|
|
Monday, May 07, 2012
Havana.- The Cuban athlete Johen Lefont won a world freestyle soccer record after touching a soccer ball 1,203 times during nearly nine minutes, while floating in a swimming pool.
Lefont is a member of the Cuban water polo national team and three years ago he started juggling with a soccer ball in a swimming pool.
Likewise, he won his first record in 2010 after 534 touches to a soccer ball in a Havana hotel swimming pool.
It is important to point out that this specialty demands a greater physical effort than the traditional on-ground varieties due to the constant movement of arms and legs to keep stability in the water.
The event was filmed with underwater cameras in order to send the necessary information to Great Britain and obtain the official endorsement by the Guinness book of records.
