Cuban Artist Exhibits Artworks in Quebec
Monday, September 12, 2005

Havana.- The Cuban artist Jorge Jacas is exhibiting his artworks in the Canadian city of Quebec this month.

The exhibition, entitled "Acercamiento" (Rapprochement), consists of 16 ceramic works that show – according to experts – the movement, texture and colors that Jacas gets from the environment.

The artist has a workshop-study on San Félix Street, in Santiago de Cuba's historic heart, and has a vast experience in working with clay.

His artworks are in private collections in Jamaica, Venezuela, the United States of America, Colombia, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany, France and Canada.

The exhibition is being held at the Centre de Ceramique Bonsecours, as part of a project that marks the beginning of a movement that will link Cuban artists with Canada.
