Havana.- The Cuban judo team confirmed its quality after qualifying nine athletes for the Olympic Games in London this summer.
According to the most recent updating of the world-ranking list, Cuba has ensured eight direct Olympic spots, as well as another spot provided by the continental ranking list.
In this sense, the Cuban women’s judo team for the Olympic Games includes Dayaris Mestre (48 kilograms), Yanet Bermoy (52), Yaritza Abel (63), Onix Cortés (70), Yurisleidis Lupetey (57) and Idalis Ortiz (+78).
On the other hand, the men’s team is composed of Asley González (90), Oreidis Despaigne (100) and Oscar Brayson (+100).
Likewise, Yalennis Castillo and Ronald Girones, 78 and 73 kilograms respectively, are waiting for invitations by the International Federation of the discipline.
