Havana.- The publishing house El Mar y la Montaña, in the eastern province of Gunatánamo, has finished the launching of new books related to Baracoa’s history.
The list includes the book “Baracoa, crisol de cubanía” (Baracoa, Cuban Melting Pot) by the researcher Fidel Aguirre, which includes 18 chapters on Baracoa’s history.
Another books is “Baracoa, su alma profunda” (Baracoa, Its Deep Soul), coauthored by Fidel Aguirre and the researcher and narrator María Court Hernández who is the director of the local library.
The abovementioned book includes the encounter of two cultures, the European and the Indigenous-Cuban, as an example of the most relevant events in the region until the present date.
Also included is the latest edition of the magazine El Mar y la Montaña (The Sea and the Mountain), dedicated to Our Lady of the Assumption of Baracoa.
