Havana.- The Cuban health system is taking actions to inform health professionals about health care costs in order to improve the service efficiency.
According to specialists, the objective is to inform about the real costs of the free medical care provided to the population.
Economic and accounting professionals are in charge of this task including the primary, secondary and tertiary health care.
In this sense, the initiative contributes to the efficient use of resources and the elimination of unnecessary expenses.
Proposals made by experts include, among others, the strengthening of the clinical diagnosis method, supported by doctor-patient interviews and physical examination.
