Havana.- The province of Camagüey, in the eastern area of the country, has specialists working in a computer program for vector control.
The project will allow information integration into one data base system including infestation rates, amounts of vulnerable deposits, positive areas and inspection dates, among other elements.
In this sense, the program is being tested in different health areas prior to its extensive use.
This computer program, developed in open code platforms, will reduce deficiencies in data processing and will eliminate phone and fuel expenses on information transmission.
According to experts, the program could be extended to other health areas like the Mother-Child Program and the control of other infectious diseases.
