Havana.- The Villa Santo Domingo, in the eastern province of Granma, will increase its capacities to meet the growing demands of mountain tourism.
The facility, operated by the Islazul hotel chain, is located in the Sierra Maestra and includes among its main offers, the climb to the Turquino peak; the highest mountain in Cuba.
Works will allow increasing the facility’s capacity to 80 persons, thus making a better use of the natural potential in the area.
The new two-story cabins must be ready to welcome visitors in November, when the high tourist season starts.
Villa Santo Domingo is located about 60 kilometers to the southwest of Bayamo and, for years, it has been a preferred destination by visitors from Italy, France, Netherlands and Germany.
