Remarkable Performance of Cuban Player at Russian Chess Tournament |

Havana.- The Cuban Grand Master (GM) Leinier Domínguez, the main chess player in Cuba, performed remarkably at the Russian team tournament.
Domínguez, included in the Saint Petersburg team, finished in the second position of the single format with five points of six, resulting from five victories and two draws.
In this sense, the Cuban player´s effectiveness was 83.3 percent, thus contributing 11.3 points to his Elo score which would place him among the world top ten in the ranking list.
The first position at the tournament was won by Alexander Grischuk who added 15.1 points to his Elo score for at third position in the world-ranking list.
The Saint Petersburg team, in which the Cuba player was included, finished third, following the Malachite team (12 points) and SHSM-Nuestro Patrimonio (11 points).
