Three Cuban Boxers Win Gold Medals in China

Havana.- Three Cuban boxers won gold medals at the Open Boxing Tournament in China, where fighters from 18 countries participated.

The Cuban gold medalists were light welterweight boxer Luis Oliva, who won the final fight 3-0 against Sandeep Kumar, from India, and Arisnoidys Despaigne in the welterweight division.

Despaigne, world runner-up, defeated Batzorig Otgonjarga, from Mongolia, while Arlen López won the third gold medal after beating Sajad Mehrabi, from Iran.

Only Santiago Amador lost his first fight 1-2 to Ganselem Aruinbold, from Mongolia.

Both China and Russia won two titles each, while Ian Clark Bautista (the Philippines), Golara Faroutan (Iran) and Hyeong-Kyu Kim (South Korea) were the other gold medalists.
