Agri-industrial Company in Ceballos Reports Increased Profits
Monday, August 18, 2014

Havana.- The agri-industrial company in Ceballos, in the eastern Cuban province of Ciego de Avila, reported profits of 34 million pesos during the first seven months of 2014.

That achievement resulted from several factors, including an increase in fruit trees and improvement of crops, in addition to the creation of small factories and the increased capacity of its industrial complex to process fruit and vegetables.

Last year's investments in the complex tripled the fruit- and vegetable-processing capacity, thus contributing to increase production for the tourism sector, exports and the domestic market.

Moreover, the complex was equipped with modern technology and a new line to can some 400 tons of tomato byproducts, while the capacity to process mango and guava rose from 8 to 30 tons a day.
