Cuba Guarantees Training of Health Professionals

Havana.- The Cuban higher educational system promotes the training of health professional, with more than 92,000 students enrolled in medical sciences.

Of that total, 70,000 are studying in higher education centers and 22,000 are majoring in technical studies, with a large presence of foreign students.

There are 13 universities of medical sciences and three independent faculties in the provinces of Artemisa and Mayabeque, and the Special Municipality of Isla de la Juventud (Isle of Youth).

In the current school year, more than 11,000 students enrolled in the first year of Medicine, including those from the Latin American School of Medicine.

In addition, nearly 4,000 students are majoring in Nursing, and 8,000 are studying Stomatology.
