Cuban Junior Baseball Team Wins Continental Championship |

Havana.- The Cuban team shared the titled with the United States at the Pan-American Junior Baseball Championship, held in Mexico.
Due to bad weather conditions caused by the proximity of Hurricane Odile, the organizers of the event decided to suspend the gold-medal game and granted the first place to the two teams.
The US team concluded the first preliminary round with eight victories and no defeats, followed by Cuba and Canada (6-2), while Mexico (5-3) finished fourth.
That way, the Cuban and US teams qualified for the World Junior Championship, scheduled for next year in Japan.
Three Cuban players were included in the All-Star Team of the event. They were Omar Estévez and fielders Víctor V. Mesa and José Oña.
