Cruise Tourism Grows in Central Cuba
Monday, September 29, 2014

Havana.- The central Cuban province of Cienfuegos is expected to report an increase in cruise tourism with 70 ships during the upcoming peak season.

Tourism officials in Cienfuegos pointed out that 16 of those ships will dock in the zone of Faro Luna, a hotel that is an ideal place for scuba diving and snorkeling.

In 2013, three dozen cruise ships arrived in the Bay of Jagua, so that tourist modality is recuperating in central Cuba.

In addition, Cienfuegos has received 73,300 foreign tourists so far this year, and is expected to be visited by 35,000 more during the rest of 2014.

Among the optional offers in Cienfuegos is nature tourism with excursions to the Guanaroca Lagoon, El Nicho and Yaguanabo, in addition to scuba diving and snorkeling.
