Improved Services at Cuban Children's Hospital
Monday, January 19, 2015

Havana.- The Eduardo Agramonte Children's Hospital, in the eastern Cuban province of Camagüey, benefited from large investments in 2014.

Actions consisted of maintaining several inpatient wards, as well as building a nephrology center.

Since late 2013, five operating rooms have been remodeled, in addition to the wards of gastroenterology, respiratory infections, nephrology and international medical services, the sterilization center and the intensive care units.

Moreover, ventilation systems were installed in all 13 beds at the intensive care unit, and two artificial kidneys were installed to provide hemodialysis services.

The hospital has 333 beds and treats children from Camagüey, Ciego de Avila and Las Tunas, as well as other provinces in some medical specialties such as brain surgery, oncology, neonatal surgery and orthopedics.
