New Challenge for Cuban Athlete Yarisley Silva in Pole Vault
Monday, January 26, 2015

Havana.- Yarisley Silva, Cuba's best pole vault jumper, will try to jump over five meters in 2015.

Coach Alexander Navas, who is in charge of her training, pointed out that Silva's main competitions this year are the Pan-American Games in Toronto, Canada, and the World Championship in Beijing, China.

The expert noted that they are working to stabilize her jumps over 4.70 meters, win the title in the continental games and win a medal in the world event.

Silva's best jump is 4.82 meters, so in order to improve that personal record she will have to train hard and make great efforts.

Among Silva's best results are a silver medal in the Olympic Games in London in 2012, and a gold medal in the World Indoor Championship in Sopot, Poland, last year.
