Cubans Dominate International Weightlifting Tournament |

Havana.- Cuba dominated the actions of the 34th Manuel Suárez in Memoriam International Weightlifting Tournament, held in the central province of Cienfuegos.
The event brought together 70 competitors from ten countries, led by Cuba in the table of medals with 39 medals, including 20 titles and eight silver medals.
Brazil finished second with 12 gold medals, followed by the Dominican Republic with 18 medals, including seven titles.
According to experts, the tournament fulfilled its objective of evaluating the quality of sport and training the weightlifters for the Pan-American Games in Toronto, Canada, in July.
The most outstanding male weightlifter was Adriel La O, from Cuba, who won the titles in the 77-kilogram division, while the best female athlete was Beatriz Pirón (48 kg), from the Dominican Republic.
