Seasoned Salt on the Cuban Market
Monday, March 30, 2015

Havana.- The Martí Saltworks Company, in the western Cuban province of Matanzas, is producing seasoned salt for the domestic market.

The salt contains several spices, including garlic and cumin, among others, which contribute a characteristic Cuban flavor.

The market for this product, which is made using traditional methods, are concentrated in the provinces of Havana and Pinar del Río, in addition to some municipalities in Matanzas.

The plant's staff can supply up to 3,000 bags of salt a day, according to the orders placed different clients.

They use tailor-made bags and a label that was especially designed for the Martí Saltworks Company, which has so far produced 85,000 units of seasoned salt.
