Cuban Company IMECA Works to Diversify Products |

Havana.- The company Industria Mecánica Caribe (IMECA), based in western Cuba, is working to diversify its products.
The company makes 110-millimeters water pipes which mainly go to the national housing program.
The plant can produce 1.5 kilometers of pipes per working shift, saving resources to the national economy by concept of reducing imports.
In 2015, the company will start repairing carts, lifters and other machinery in conjunction with Empresa Nacional de Servicios Comunales and companies from the agricultural sector.
Founded initially as Fábrica de Carretas, the plant only produced metal-mechanic productions until 2008, but at present, nearly 30 percent of its output consists of plastic products.
