Estudios Siboney Preparares New Records
Monday, July 6, 2015

Havana.- Estudios Siboney, attached to Empresa de Grabaciones y Ediciones Musicales (EGREM), is preparing three CDs to pay tribute to the city of Santiago de Cuba.

As part of actions to preserve the country's musical heritage, the recording house will launch the CDs "A Santiago por Sus 500 Años", a second record that pays tribute to Juan Almeida Bosque and a third CD containing music dedicated to the city and composed by Ricardo Leyva.

The latter contains the songs "Sabor a Caney", "Calle Enramadas", "Hasta Santiago a Pie" and "Añoranza por la Conga", which have been sung by renowned Cuban interpreters like Septeto Turquino and Conga de Los Hoyos.

The studios, which were inaugurated in 1980, have three decades' experience in promoting and preserving the country's heritage, in addition to being an option for Cuban musicians.

Estudios Siboney has received important awards in periodical events held to promote Cuba's recordings.
