Cuba to Be Guest of Honor at Maya Cultural Festival |

Havana.- Cuba will be the guest of honor at the International Maya Cultural Festival, to be held in October in the Mexican state of Yucatan.
According to organizers, the event's agenda consists of colloquiums, roundtable discussions and academic panels with experts from Mexico, Cuba, the United States, Slovenia, Argentina, Australia, Russia and the Netherlands.
The program includes more than 400 events and the participation of more than 1,500 artists from Yucatan and different parts of Mexico, as well as from 35 countries.
Tourism authorities pointed out that the festival is one of the initiatives being promoted by that sector that are linked to Mexico's most attractive culture and a reference to that kind of meeting.
Cuba will be represented by Pablo Milanés, Los Van Van, La Colmenita, Orquesta Aragón, Eliades Ochoa, Habana Compás Dance, Ballet Folclórico Nacional, the trio Los Embajadores and Teatro de las Estaciones.
