World-Renowned Pianists to Perform in Havana
Monday, August 31, 2015

Havana.- The Cuban capital will bring together the world-renowned pianists Lang Lang (China) and Chucho Valdés (Cuba), who will give a joint outdoors concert in October.

Winner of five Grammy Awards and three Latin Grammy Awards, Valdés is the most influential pianist in the modern history of Afro-Cuban jazz.

Meanwhile, The New York Times described Lang as the best classic artist in the world, and Time magazine included him in the list of the world's top 100 most influential people.

According to organizers, each artist has proposed the music they would like to play.

The US orchestra conductor and violinist Marin Alsop will choose the final program, because during the concert in Havana, the current director of the Symphonic Orchestra of Baltimore will conduct the National Symphonic Orchestra of Cuba.
