Russian Cinema in Cuba
Monday, September 28, 2015

Havana.- The Cuban capital hosted the Russian Cinema Week, during which several motion pictures from that country were exhibited.

The program included feature-length films like "The Battle for Sebastopol", "En Route to Berlin", "Taking of the Devil", "Ivan the Fierce", "Vasilisa" and "Territory".

The movies, made between 2012 and 2015, were grouped in four generic categories: war, sports, comedy-science fiction and adventure films.

"The Battle for Sebastopol" is inspired in the life of Lyudmila Pavlichenko, a Ukrainian sniper who fought with the Red Army during World War II and who killed 309 Nazi soldiers.

The director of the film, Sergei Mokritskiy, producer Natalia Mokritskaya and one of the actors, Nikita Tarasov, presented the motion picture in Cuba.
