More Citrus Processed in Eastern Cuba
Monday, September 28, 2015

Havana.- Industria de Cítricos Contramaestre, in eastern Cuba, has increased fruit processing for the international market.

According to experts, producing 1,800 tons of Seville orange and grapefruit oil would allow the factory to have revenues of nearly 180,000 dollars.

Therefore, special attention is paid to the citrus harvest, in addition to making better use of the plant's capacities to produce guava byproducts.

In addition, the company is working to increase supplies of canned tomato puree, vinegar, bee honey, juices, and fruits in syrup, bars and creams.

Some 60 products from mango, guava, pineapple and tomato, among other fruits, are being commercialized in the domestic market.
