Stem-cell Therapy in Cuba's Healthcare System |

Havana.- Generative medicine is gaining ground in Cuba's healthcare system, especially in orthopedics.
According to experts, platelet-rich plasma and the implants of stem cells are part of the options used in that medical specialty in Cuba.
As part of that experience, experts from six Cuban provinces presented the results of their research works using those techniques at the 26th Congress on Orthopedics and Trauma.
Professionals from the Amalia Simoni Clinical Surgical Hospital in Camagüey are using platelet-rich plasma to treat osteomyoarticular diseases.
In addition, they combine stem-cell implants with Cuban-made RALCA minifixators to treat pseudo-arthritis of the ulna and the radius.
