Cuban Chess Player Competes in Regional Event |

Havana.- Grand Master (GM) Lazaro Bruzon, one of Cuba's best chess players, will compete at the Ibero-American Chess Championships.
It is noteworthy that Bruzon was the first champion of this type of tournament in 2006 and is already registered, along with others like Paraguay's Axel Bachman, who will defend his 2014 title.
Other participants will be Peru's Julio Granda, champion in 2008, and Venezuela's Eduardo Iturrizaga, Argentina's Fernando Peralta and Bolivia's Oswaldo Zambrana.
According to organizers, the list of participants includes representatives from 15 of the 23 federations convened for this year's championship.
Some 200 players from Andorra, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Spain, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela are expected to participate.
