High-Quality Training for Cuban Health Professionals
Monday, October 5, 2015

Havana.- Cuba is commitment to providing high-quality training to health professionals, in order to meet the needs of the population and for international cooperation.

According to officials from the sector, the training of specialists, technicians and skilled workers in 24 medical specialties was reactivated.

In 2015, about 60 million pesos were used for repairs in 14 universities of medical sciences and 37 medical schools throughout the country.

In addition, 37,000 professors who make up the staff in Cuba's medical schools achieved a 97-percent promotion in different specialties, including stomatology, health technology and nursing, among others.

As an outstanding element is the on-the-job training of professionals, who work in primary care at polyclinics and hospitals.
