Cuban Sugar Industry Commits to Derivatives

Havana.- The Cuban sugar industry encourages the production of derivatives, as part of the strategy to diversify the sector.

In the case of the central province of Villa Clara, Heriberto Duquesne factory makes honey stabilized B, alcohol, rum and other derivatives.

Company executives pointed out that 12,600 hectoliters of alcohol, together with 50,000 cases of rum Mulata, among other items were made in March.

Also, from July it will begin operating a plant of animal feed with prospects to deliver about 2,400 tons of nutritional supplement.

In the case of rum, the raw material is subjected to different samples, in which the alcohol is verified, the purity of the liquid and other defining assets of the final quality.
