Cuban Banks Support the Private Sector |

Havana.- Cuban financial system designed options to support private sector activity, as part of the diversification of the economic model on the island.
In this direction, the operations of non-agricultural cooperatives received loans for about 223 million Cuban pesos in the 2013-2015 period.
Metropolitan Bank executives stressed that 324 such entities benefited from loans granted in the referred period.
They also indicated that applications of cooperatives basically concentrated on covering working capital and investment execution.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics and Information, by the end of last year there were working in Cuba 367 new type cooperatives, higher than those in 2014 (345).
