Recreational Boating Links Cuba and US

Havana.- Recreational boating consolidates positions as a factor that promotes ties between Cuba and US, with a broad agenda of 18 events in 2016.

In this context, the waters of Havana received a fleet of 13 yachts and a sailboat, in an initiative organized by the Key West Yacht Club.

Also, the Association of yachtsmen Cruisers of Texas will bring to the island a fleet of eight yachts and sailboats as part of a rally to Cuba.

Another event will be the Havana World Record Challenge, in which James Dennoyer attempt to set a speed record of less than one hour between Key West and Havana.

Together with his, his son Thomas Dennoyer, sails on a boat specially designed for this journey, capable of reaching a speed of over 100 miles per hour.
