Cuban Sugar Harvest Encourages Quality |

Havana.- The Cuban sugar harvest for the period 2016-2017 prioritizes the quality of the product, with superior parameters of the sweetener compared to the international ones.
So far, 52 factories operate, and only two are left after completing the planned repairs to deal with sugar cane processing.
Experts from the Azcuba group indicated that the planned sugar production plan is met in 90 percent, with the possibility of reaching the scheduled volumes.
Sugar manufacture in Cuba has maintained a 12 percent annual growth since 2010 despite difficulties with technological supplies and adverse weather.
In the current season, 96 percent of the sugarcane cut is made mechanically, which is reflected in a significant decrease in manual strength.
