Havana.- The 20th edition of the Marathon of Hope Terry Fox, with activity in all the municipalities of the island, is a tribute to the fight against cancer.
According to the organizers, the event pays homage to the young Canadian Terry Fox, who died at the age of 22.
Fox suffered amputation of his right leg six inches above the knee, at 18 years of age, and with a prosthesis ran 42 kilometers during 143 consecutive days.
The event will be participatory and will not have prizes, while in the capital is expected a circuit of 2,900 meters for the aforementioned race.
Competition is also an opportunity to recognize all those who in one way or another fight that disease, considered one of the leading causes of death in the world.
