Havana.- The municipality of Baracoa, in the eastern province of Guantánamo, has new facilities for construction by activating a plant dedicated to producing concrete.
The facility, donated by Venezuela, is able to provide in an eight-hour working day up to 240 tons of the material, which mixes cement, aggregate, water and additives.
Chinese-made, and assembled with the assistance of specialists from the Asian nation, the plant is part of the aid aimed at repairing the damages caused by Hurricane Matthew in the territory.
The installation will allow to triple the current production of concrete in the municipality, carried out to date using a craft technology.
The equipment will allow to manufacture slabs, panels, shoes, enclosures and columns for various buildings, as well as hydraulic concrete for roads.
