Tourist Arrivals Increase in Uruguay |

Montevideo.- The various tourist destinations in Uruguay in the first two months of 2017 covered more than one million visitors, a record level in the activity.
Industry officials also indicated that in the reference period, revenues totaled $ 909 million.
In this way, the growth of vacationers marked a strong rebound of 23.6 percent, with 846,000 Argentines, 103,000 Brazilians and about 22,000 Chileans.
In addition, among the destinations, Punta del Este received 312,000 visitors, while Montevideo hosted 150,000, another 126,364 went to Rocha and 92,000 to Costa de Oro, of the department of Canelones.
Uruguay had already achieved a record January 2017 in visitors and foreign exchange, while for all of 2016 the expansion was 12.3 percent, with 3.3 million tourists.
