Cuban Cyclist, Second on World Cycling Tour
Monday, March 27, 2017

La Habana.- Cuban Arlenis Sierra, a member of the Astana Women's Team, reached the second position in the third round of the World Cycling Tour, based in Italy.

The Pan-American champion in Guadalajara-2011 reached the goal with a time of three hours, 25 minutes and 26 seconds, the same as the American Coryn Rivera, Team Sunweb, occupying the first place.

In the distance race of 131.3 kilometers, 150 riders participated, from 25 squads from several countries, and only 89 completed the difficult route.

Since joining that team she has accumulated a first place and two second places, as she was the starter in the race for the Gold Trophy of Italy, in the town of Montignoso, province of Massa-Carrara, Tuscany.

On that occasion, she covered the 106.8 kilometers of competition in two hours and 43 minutes, relegating Marta Bastianelli, from the team Ale Cipollini, and Giorgia Bronzini (Wiggle High5), former world champions.
