Ecological Honey in Cuban West
Monday, March 27, 2017

Havana.- The Guanahacabibes Peninsula, at the western end of the island, promotes the development of ecological honey to take advantage of the territory's potential.

The apicultural specialized unit of that zone foresees the production of about 100 tons of this type of food, from operations certified to guarantee the quality.

In that sense, state inspectors of the Bureau of Territorial Standardization verified the increase of the qualities of the product thanks to an advanced technology for the processing of the item.

The bees are very laborious and especially the workers live about 45 days in times of strong flowering and only in the epilogue of those days will collect nectar, pollen, water and resins for propolis.

The ecological condition also relapses in derivatives like the wax, propolis and the queen bee breed, among other activities related with the honey.
