Investment in Tourism Infrastructure
Monday, March 27, 2017

Havana.- Investments aimed at expanding tourism infrastructure in the country gain space, as part of the strategy to support the expansion of the sector.

In that direction, the Spanish group Alteagua, formed by the companies Velamar and Tramasa S.L., works on the installation of a desalination plant in Cayo Largo del Sur.

With the new module, experts said, will also increase the production capacity of the resource to 24 cubic meters per hour and will reduce equipment maintenance costs.

In the course of this year, similar projects will also benefit the north cays of Villa Clara and Ciego de Avila, to ensure tourism and hotel activity.

The use of desalination plants is a way to deal with the intense and prolonged drought that affects the island, mainly to the center and east of the country.
