Havana.- The Cuban health system is taking action in favor of children, with proposals such as the vaccination campaign against poliomyelitis.
The island will apply the second stage of this process this month with the immunization of nearly half a million Cuban children, according to the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP).
On this occasion, the second dose of the immunogenic (oral route) will be administered to 363,778 children of one month, one year, 11 months and 29 days who received the first one in February.
Along with this, the vaccine will be reactivated in 108,110 nine-year-old infants.
The closing activities of this campaign coincide with the Vaccination Week of the Americas, in which all countries of the region will take action to raise the immune status of the population.
