Osaka Aspires to Host Universal Expo 2025 |

Tokyo.- The Japanese city of Osaka aspires to host the Universal Expo in its 2025 edition, lasting 185 days between May and November of that year.
The authorities presented the candidacy for an appointment to be made on the artificial island of Yumeshima, with the possibility of receiving the visit of some 28 million people.
So far only Paris (France) have expressed interest in hosting the forum, although they could choose Toronto (Canada), Baku (Azerbaijan), Manchester (United Kingdom) and Izhevsk, Nizhny Novgorod or Yekaterinburg (Russia).
It is worth mentioning that Osaka already hosted the Universal Expo in 1970 and for this occasion the cost of the project is estimated at some 1.2 billion dollars.
Osaka Governor Ichiro Matsui will officially present the Japanese bid on April 24 at the headquarters in the French capital of the International Exhibition Office.
