Tourism Expansion Expected in Jamaica
Monday, April 17, 2017

Kingston.- Jamaica's tourism sector expects a five percent increase in international visitor arrivals in 2017, with an estimated 4.5 million people.

Leisure industry officials also indicated that there is a favorable environment for the development of the cruise mode, based on the potential of the Caribbean.

Figures show a growth in ships docked at the ports of Ocho Rios, Montego Bay and Falmouth, main access points for these ships.

It is worth mentioning that Jamaica will host the United Nations-sponsored World Conference on Sustainable Tourism in November.

Together with this, the country encourages the acquisition of nationally manufactured inputs, in order to reduce imports and stimulate the domestic economy.
