Specialized Forum on Cancer in Cuba |

Havana.- The eastern Cuban province of Las Tunas hosted the Oncoforum-2017 specialized event, aimed at promoting the exchange around oncology and associated specialties.
The event had the presentation of about 160 works contributed by students, among them those related to subjects such as pediatric Oncology.
Experts recalled that until only three years ago, cancer was the leading cause of death on the island and now is only surpassed by heart disease.
Hence the importance of its study, the analysis of new treatments and the knowledge about the essential principles for the management of these patients.
The meeting included visits to the Mártires de Las Tunas pediatric hospital, especially for the exchange with children and relatives in the Oncohematology room.
