Monday, May 15, 2017

Havana.- Seven Cuban Cyclists qualified at the Pan-American Route Cycling Championships for the Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla in 2018.

Cuban experts pointed out that the Caribbean island guaranteed five slots in the women's contest and two in the men's competition of the regional event.

One of Cuba's cyclists is Marlies Mejias, who finished third and qualified in the 20-kilometer time-trial race, and Yudelmis Domínguez, who was eighth in that same event.

In the elite route race for women, Arlenis Sierra (fourth) and Iraida García (sixth) qualified in the 90-kilometer race, while Claudia Baró finished eighth.

More than 200 cyclists from 27 countries participated in the regional qualifier, which was organized by Dominican Cycling Federation (FEDOCI).
