Havana.- The Cuban athlete Yarisley Silva, 2015 world champion in pole vault, excelled at the first phase of the Diamond League of Athletics.

At the event, held in Doha (Qatar), Silva finished in the third position after jumping 4.65 meters and added six points to her score for the circuit.

The 2017 Diamond League will grant awards totaling three million dollars that will be distributed among the 32 winners in different categories.

In addition to the Doha phase, the Diamond League will also be held in Shanghai, Eugene, Roma, Oslo, Stockholm, Paris, Lausanne, London, Rabat, Monaco and Birmingham, before the finals in Zurich and Brussels.
