Havana.- The iron and steel company ACINOX, based in the eastern Cuban province of Las Tunas, will benefit from a broad modernization program.
Investments will contribute to increasing the plant's production capacity and efficiency, considering that the works include the automation of the 200-T Laminator.
The program implies the installation of modern technology in that sector of the factory to increase production of corrugated bars by three-fold, to about 40,000 tons a year.
The 200-T Laminator makes corrugated bars for the country's housing program and prioritized construction works in the eastern provinces, Camagüey and Ciego de Avila.
The project also includes the opening of an area to make wire rod for the construction sector that will produce 50,000 tons a year.
