European Cinema in Havana

Havana.- The Cuban capital will host the second edition of the European Film Festival in June with a program that consists of motion pictures from 16 countries.

According to organizers, the German feature-length film "Fukushima, My Love", by the moviemaker Doris Dörrie, will be screened at the opening gala of the event.

Havana's movie theaters will also screen the Irish documentary "A Fearless Captain", which will be presented by its director, Charles O'Brien.

The Festival is sponsored by the Cuban Institute of Art and Cinematographic Industry (ICAIC), the Office of the City Historian and the Palace of the Second Corporal.

The program includes the screening of 14 fiction movies and five documentaries from Germany, Austria, Belgium, Spain, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Sweden and Cyprus.
