Havana Hosts International Conference on Port Cities
Monday, June 19, 2017

Havana.- The Cuban capital hosted the International Conference Environmental and Urban Dialogue among Port Cities, aimed at evaluating the strategies for development.

The meeting is part of the project on Integral, Participative and Sustainable Management for the Local Development of the Historic Heart and the Bay of Havana, carried out in conjunction with the European Union and the City Hall of Barcelona.

According to experts, the forum favored the exchange of experiences and good practices on similar processes to turn old industrial and port areas into spaces for public use.

The agenda analyzed the challenges to regenerate port cities, the sustainability of urban transportation and urban renovation in populated neighborhoods.

The architect Patricia Rodríguez presented the paper "The Bay of Havana: a Rapprochement to its Cultural Heritage", among other aspects of interests.
