Cultural Project in Favor of Cuba's Patron Saint
Monday, June 26, 2017

Havana.- Students in the eastern Cuban province of Holguín are working on the design of a cultural project linked to the Lady of Charity, Cuba's Patron Saint.

According to experts, the initiative aims to create a broad spectrum of cultural options.

The Route of Cuba's Patron Saint includes eight stops of great significance along the tour, several of which are of extraordinary historic value.

The first stop in the tour is Cayo La Virgen because, according to legend, it was in the waters of the Bay of Nipe where the Virgin's image was seen for the first time.

The Church of Barajagua, where the Lady of Charity was worshipped for the first time, will be the second stop in the route, which will end at the Cathedral of El Cobre.
