Investment Program in Cuba's Food Industry
Monday, July 17, 2017

Havana.- Cuba's food industry benefits from a broad program of investments to recover the sector's productive capacity.

Since 2014, the project has included the rehabilitation of capacities to produce meat and dairy products and improve sanitary conditions in 53 food-processing plants.

In that regard, the installation of modern cooling systems was completed, in addition to the recuperation of several cold stores.

It also included the assembly of new technological lines, like the ice-cream plant in Cardenas, Matanzas province, which will produce 6,500 gallons of ice-cream a day.

Other achievements were the recuperation of soy yogurt production and the execution of two lines to make sausages and bottle oil, and the modernization of the tetra pack system.
