Environmental Practices at Future Airport in Mexico
Monday, July 17, 2017

Mexico.- Authorities in the new international airport in Mexico City (NAICM) are working to guarantee sustainable operations.

In order to achieve that objective, the facility will use renewable energy, will promote the use of public transportation and will develop programs to protect the environment, water, energy efficiency, waste management, wildlife and vegetation.

In that regard, the company ARUP will be in charge of developing a sustainability program for the NAICM.

That initiative aims to triple the capacity of the current airport in Mexico City (passengers and cargo), which is in its final phase of operations.

The NAICM is expected to start up operations in late 2020 to handle about 68 million passengers.
