Ernest Hemingway's Legacy in Finca Vigía
Monday, July 24, 2017

Havana.- Finca Vigía, in the Cuban capital, stands out in the legacy of the U.S. author Ernest Hemingway, as it is the scenario where he wrote some of his best novels.

The 4.3-hectare estate has a forest with more than 200 mango trees, 150 palm trees and other species like avocado, orange, almond, ackee, plum and tamarind.

Turned into a museum, Finca Vigía's collection consists of more than 7,000 books and pamphlets, the building's decoration and 2,000 magazines.

The building's decoration, which includes antlers and heads of buffaloes, lions and other animals, allows visitors to learn about the world-renowned novelist's passions.

The collection also contains about 900 vinyl records of Cuban and Spanish music, U.S. popular music, as well as classic music and jazz.
